Taking care of Texas veterans is the 2020-2021 President’s Special Project. Therefore, the President’s Special Project is the Veterans’ Assistance Program (Texas VFW Foundation).
The Veterans’ Assistance Program is managed by the Texas VFW Foundation. Created by members of the Texas VFW, this program provides stop-gap financial assistance for basic living needs to qualifying Honorably discharged veterans, their families, and their surviving spouses. The Veterans’ Assistance Program have assisted veterans and their families with rent/mortgage, utilities, vehicle payments, and insurance with over $5 million in direct financial assistance in the last 10 years. All assistance is awarded to veterans who can prove Texas residency. Truly, Texans taking care of Texans.
All auxiliaries are encouraged to hold a fundraiser for the Veterans’ Assistance Program. If you need literature for the fundraiser on the Veterans’ Assistance Program, please email foundation@texasvfw.org for more information. There are rack cards and other information they can provide you for your event.
Checks should be made payable to the VFW Auxiliary, Department of Texas. Please mail to the Department Treasurer with “Veterans’ Assistance Program” in the Memo field. The address is:

All reports should include descriptions on donations and fundraiser held. Please attach copy of donation check(s). Let your reporting promote your commitment to Texas veterans. Include pictures, promotion of event(s), write-ups, newsletters, Facebook postings, written narratives, and anything that helps your program stand out.
